Take Your Space

In soccer, when the coach yells, “take your space” he’s telling you to take your eyes off your feet for a second, off the ball and look up cause there’s a wide open space just ahead of you.  Instead of frantically planning the next move,  what to do next, just step forward, into the space.  You can figure out what’s next later.  First take your space.  I don’t know why I thought of that when I sat across from this guy listening to him urge me to do whatever I needed to do to create space in my life.   That there’s nothing I needed to do that was more important than finding and taking space.
